Friday
Friday I got to leave work early! Hooray!!! Working late during the
week can be rough but it’s all worth it when I get to leave at noon! Megan,
Camilla, and I drove down to St George for Shakespearean Festival weekend!!!
Friday night’s activities mostly included
driving and eating and watching Safe Haven!
Saturday
This was the first year that I’ve been to the festival. I’ve heard such
good things and everyone that goes has a great time. I can’t believe I had
never been! We started out with an orientation meeting where someone told us
about the play that we’d be seeing. It was in this outdoor theater that was
similar to what the Globe was like back in the day. After he was done giving
his little speech, I snuck up on stage for a picture.
The first show we saw was Love’s Labour Lost. We had stayed up quite
late the night before so we were all tired and there may have been a few naps
during the show. Ooops. It was fine-turns out I’m not that into Shakespeare.
Maybe I would’ve liked it more if I had read the play and known more about it
before hand.
After the first show we hung out in Cedar for a bit-looked around the
gift shoppe, layed on the grass outside for a bit, went and had dinner at this
delish pizza place, and took some photos in front of the SUU sign, my mamma’s
Alma Mater.
The second show we saw was Peter and the Starcatcher. Everyone I know that has seen it has RAVED
about it so I was a little worried it wouldn’t live up to all the hype. It
totally 100% did. I have never laughed so hard in a play before. It was such a
great, fun, funny, heartwarming show. Everyone needs to see it.
Sunday
Sunday was rather uneventful. We got up and cleaned the house and drove
home. Went to church. Hung out with the fam. It was nice to hang out at and
relax and ramp up for the busy week ahead!
