Weekend update: 8.25.2013

This weekend was a good one. I can’t believe August is almost over! Ack!

Friday
Friday afternoon we had our work summer party!! It was country fair/hillbilly themed. We had delish BBQ for lunch and played some field games, everyone dressed up, and we got done early so I got to go home and take a nap! It was a great way to spend the afternoon!

Friday night a bunch of us girls went to dinner for Sarah’s birthday. It was fun to see people and chat and catch up. And of course it was fun to celebrate with Sarah! Sadly I didn’t take any photos. Boo.

Saturday
Saturday my alarm clock went off earlier than it does during the week and I managed to make myself get out of bed and go for a run. Lately, every time I run, I get terrible headaches and am pretty much out for the rest of the weekend. I decided to take it very easy and see if that made any difference. I ran  4 very slow miles and didn’t feel terrible by the end but as the afternoon went on, the headache came.  So. Frustrating. Apparently my body just isn’t into running anymore or something.

Despite the headache, I carried on with my day. I went to the farmer’s market with sister. I just love the market-it’s so fun and there’s some great people watching! I took a little nap. Cleaned. And got myself ready.

Saturday night we tried again to go to the stargazing thing at Snowbird and again it got rained out. I was the saddest that we weren’t able to make it to either one! So instead we went to dinner at Red Rock. I was still feeling rather terrible so we just had a quiet evening in.

Sunday
Sunday was lovely. I had a meeting before church and finally got things organized and underway for my calling. The church meetings were good too. After church, Mario and Dale came over for dinner which is always a good time. They brought an amazing chocolate mousse for dessert. It was seriously to die for. Thanks Costco!

After dinner we watched some of the VMA awards. I was quite surprised how non-crazy Lady Gaga’s performance was. And I was completely blown away with how horrific Miley Cyrus’ performance was. What on earth happened to her?!? By far though, the best was Justin Timberlake. His music he performed was so great and the N’Sync reunion minute was amazing!!! Totally brought me back to my teeny bopper days!

Up Ahead
This week should be a good one! Lots of hot yoga, a Portugal reunion with Jane, and Swiss Days and 2 weddings next weekend! Yay!
